970th TC DET

Well here we are one small happy group. This is everyone in the unit except for the commander who will join us next week. The picture was taken outside the NCO exhibt on Ft Bliss. MSG Marks thought it would be fun. It really wasnt but it was something to do. She tried at least.
I had a very interesting brief yesterday from a former special forces soldier who served 2 years in Iraq and Afghanistan. It was informative and it painted a very realistic picture of the obstacles we face in winning the hearts and minds of Iraqi's. It was also very honest about the mistakes that we have made. It was enjoyable even though it lasted 9 hours. I have also asked for and recieved some guidance on what I can and can not post on the blog. I can not give you information on where I am going other then to say that I have been mobilized in support of Operation IRAQI Freedom. I will also not be able to tell you when I am going to move to my destination. Once I am there I will be able to tell you a little bit more. Thats it for tonight folks!!!
