battle rattle
Well yesterday was a very long day and it did not go vey smooth but we finally got to Donna Anna. Of course they did not have any billets for us when we got there so we sat arround for a hour or so before they put us in a biilet that had not been cleaned and the AC was broken. I will take some pictures today to hopefully show just how horrible this place is. It is however our home for the next couple of months. We will make the best of it and try to have fun but it is not what I would call upscale accomadations. Hopefully tomorrow we will start doing some training. As you can see we finally got issued almost all of our gear. When we have all of our gear and our rucksacks on it weighs anywhere from 60 to 80 pounds with a full combat load. It should help take off some pounds!

So G.I., when do they teach you the kung-fu grip? It is at least comforting to see that they didn't issue you any ammo. "this is my rifle, this is my gun.." Check in cell coverage out there, and let me know. Love you long time!
Rick.
hey,
Sounds hot and my dad is right you do look like a G.I. you look like you are ready to go, I had a good day in 5th grade myaprents cannot believe how fast I am growing up! Talk to you later!-Lauren
Whats up John. You look good in your little outfit. Honestly I'm not at all sure why the U.S. military trusts you with a weapon. Even an unloaded one. You dont get to sleep with that under your pillow, do you? Its also good to see they found a helmet to fit your huge noggin.

P.S. Hey, I may be rude, but at least I'm writing.
I feel I have to write something nice now as I have to make up for my brother's jerkness.
You look very tough in your army outfit. We are all very proud of you!
Love, Marissa & Grant
P.S. Grant told him grandmother today that if she didn't get him his sippy cup he was going to tell his "dadadada."
You should not let Rick and Luke abuse you so! I just hope you never have to use that gun...(mother comment). Your high school classmates will be so surprised with what you are doing. Who'd have thunk?? I'm proud of you! I'm busy getting school up and running again...year 30!
Love, Mom
