Me a little nervous

Me a little nervous

Well its been a few days since I have been able to get on line so thats why no blog entry. Yesterday some of us did drivers training to get licensed to drive the Humvee. Fortunately our instructer was from the old school who actually thought that the best way to teach was not by powerpoint but by actually driving. We went out in the dessert and went offroading to learn the capabilities of the humvee. We learned a few things it CAN'T do! We only destroyed one tire and high centered another. My buddy Tamayo destoyed the tire and then I had to back it onto the recovery vehicle. I have some video that shows just how tight a fit it was. Because the front tire was blown I had to back it onto the trailer. The trailer was about a foot higher then the berm we were on so I had to gun it and power onto the flatbed. I was a little nervous to say the least as I looked down and saw my tires hanging over the edge. All things considered though it was alot of fun. It sure beat sitting in the barracks. If you want to see more pictures of the day you can click onto the photo and it will take you to Marissa's photostream online. I hope everyone is doing fine, you are all in my thoughts.

Hey John,
I am home again... it is impossible to put into words what I saw in Slidell, LA. I can say that it was some of the most valuable work I have ever done. The devastation is complete. No one escaped having their world changed, and anything I do now will be with the thought of these folks in my head. Hopefully nothing I ever have to endure will compare to this. We saw Grant: Part Deux last night...it was awesome. Take care. Rick.
